The ability to influence sector policies and practices is central to ACT mission. Availability of empirical and well-articulated research reports has been one of the areas that ACT commits itself to strengthen in lobbying and advocate. The research themes and foci are informed by various factors such as the past, current and future trends of sectoral policies and practices that affect the agriculture performance in Tanzania.
Rationale for establishing ACT
ACT was created in order to be a uniting instrument of all agricultural private sector actors. It is a convenient and effective platform for agricultural stakeholders to coordinate and implement agricultural related activities. Its basic duties are lobbying, advocacy and capacity building. ACT works to support and improve the policy, economic, legal, technical and institutional environment for the private sector led agricultural development.
ACT has been commissioning experts – cum – consultants to make studies on issues that have an adverse impact on the agricultural development.
