Omary Mwaimu has over seven years of experience working directly with smallholder farmers focusing on entrepreneurial mindset development and sustainable rural development through agribusiness promotion. He is also co-founder of the Amsha Institute of Rural Entrepreneurship and serves as Executive Director. He has been able to inspire rural farmers to become commercial farmers, thanks to the AMSHA initiative - www.amsha.org - which began in one village in October 2010 and has since expanded to about 100 villages, and has about 5000 members.

He is also one of the founders of Tanzania Youth in Agribusiness Forum (TYIAF), which is a youth-led platform under Agri-ProFocus Tanzania which was launched in Morogoro on 11th May 2013, with a motto of “Kilimo Biashara ndio mpango mzima” i.e. “Agribusiness is the real deal". The stakeholders are members of the AgriProFocus Tanzania network and other interested parties in the agriculture and development sectors. Mwaim also sits on the Agricultural Council of Tanzania Board.

Mwaimu is proficient in economics, marketing, technology and communications, including multiple social media outlets. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Ardhi University.
