Project Officer

Avelina  serves as a committed Project Officer at the Agricultural Council of Tanzania (ACT), bringing valuable expertise and a dedication to fostering positive change in the agricultural sector. Since joining ACT in 2018, she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and has earned a master's degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Dar es Salaam.

Avelina's professional journey commenced in the field, where she worked on an Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) funded project in the Rukwa and Katavi regions. In this capacity, she played an active role in overseeing project implementation and providing essential technical support.

Her extensive background spans research and development, monitoring and evaluation, policy and advocacy, resource mobilization, disaster management, and project impact evaluation. Avelina demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of navigating the intricate landscape of agricultural projects, contributing significantly to the success and sustainability of initiatives under her purview.

Beyond her responsibilities at ACT, Avelina has been an active member of the Community of Practice (COP) on climate resilience practices with the Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions since August 2022. This engagement underscores her commitment to staying at the forefront of climate-resilient practices and sharing knowledge within the broader agricultural community. Avelina's multifaceted experience, educational achievements, and ongoing contributions make her a dynamic and knowledgeable Project Officer, positively impacting the Agricultural Council of Tanzania.
