Isaac Masusu is a seasoned banking professional with over 27 years of experience, particularly in agribusiness finance. His career began in 1999 as a Credit Officer at CRDB Bank PLC, where he later advanced to Senior Relationship Manager in the Corporate Department. By 2006, he was deeply involved in agribusiness finance, a field he has specialized in for more than two decades. His expertise spans SMEs, branch operations, corporate banking, and extensive engagement with food and agricultural value chains.

In 2011, Isaac joined GroFin Fund Africa as a Country Senior Investment Manager, where he played a pivotal role in supporting SMEs and enabling GroFin’s penetration into the Tanzanian market. His work focused on initiating deals for start-ups and growing businesses, particularly in micro and SME financing. This experience broadened his understanding of the financial needs of diverse economic sectors, including farm inputs, machinery, transportation, manufacturing, and food processing.

By December 2012, Isaac transitioned to NMB Bank PLC as a Commercial Manager in Agribusiness. Over the years, he has supported financial solutions for agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and related industries, working with clients ranging from micro-enterprises to large corporates. Since December 2022, he has served as Head of Agribusiness Advisory Services at NMB Bank, overseeing the bank’s agribusiness strategy and implementation of medium-term plans. His leadership extends beyond the bank, with roles in the Agriculture Inputs Trust Fund, the Industrial Advisory Committee at the University of Dar es Salaam, and the Agricultural Council of Tanzania.

Isaac’s academic and professional training is extensive, including an MBA from Mzumbe University, certifications in agricultural finance, equity and venture finance, and agribusiness value chain financing. He has also trained in sustainability, risk management, and board governance. His exposure to international conferences on cashew, fisheries, cotton, coffee, and grain science highlights his global perspective. With significant experience at both CRDB and NMB Bank, Isaac has become a recognized authority in Tanzania’s agribusiness finance sector, combining technical expertise with strategic leadership.
